He’s the bad boy of the Amsterdam techno underground: Daniel Sanchez, 26 year old son of a Spanish father and a Dutch mother, who scored one of the biggest hits of the summer of 2007 with the infectious ‘Mumbling yeah’. Daniel’s ‘mumbling’ vocals give the track that special edge.

(Extrema Music | 2xCD) The 16 Bit Lolita's are Dutch dj/producers Peter Kriek and Ariaan Olieroock. They have just released their eagerly anticipated debut album, and they decided to make it a double.
(Soma Quality Recordings | CD) With his background in the Durham Cathedral Choir it is clear that this man knows how to compose beautiful music, which shows on Alex Smoke's debut album Incommunicado.
(Saw Recordings | CD) Audiofly are the duo Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton and with Undulation 2 on SAW Recordings they release their first mixed compilation.
(Ostgut Töntrager | CD) Berlin based Chaterine Britton a.k.a Cassy has the honours to mix the first mix-abum of her resident club Panorama Bar (Berlin, Germany)
(NoTV | DVD) Far away in the Unknown Territories still not discovered by the Evil Eye of the Kingdom of Greed, a few men are building an Ark to save the few fools left on earth from corporate evil...
(Disko B Records | CD) With "Triumph of Flesh" the Berliner duo Dakar & Grinser deliver a super slick produced album combining ultra-catchy vocals with uplifting beats and deep, summer like bass lines.
(Ministry of Sound | 2xCD) David Guetta has had a mad summer it would seem. From endless gigs to a chart topping single with 'Love Dont Walk Away' it would be easy by-pass his double CD. 'F*** me I'm Famous International' is the third installment in this album series and see's David mix his biggest tracks from recent months.
(16k Records | CD) Dextro is the alias of Scottish producer Ewan
Mackenzie, who some of you might know from the 'Do you need help' release on Border Community. This is his first full length album.
(Astralwerks | CD) Norman Cook delivers his fourth Fatboy Slim album, which - as he'd predicted - is different than we're used from this friendly English bloke. His renewed interest in hip hop over dance music is clearly taking over.
(EMI Records (UK) | CD) Getting most of their fame when “Emerge” was released in 2002, we’ve not heard a lot of them since then. Seems like the guys have been working quite hard in the studio to come up with a brand new album, even better and more mature than their debut album “#1”.
(M_nus | CD) Yep, yep, yep another Gaiser album out on M_nus after a long silence from this techno maniac. BLANK FADE includes 13(!) tracks and a one hour mix of all the productions on this release.
(EMI Records (UK) | CD) Demon Days is the follow-up to their million selling debut album Gorrilaz. As on the previous album they again prove to be very talented and versatile musicians.
(Poker Flat Recordings | CD) If you’re looking for a – close to perfection – structured cocktail of deep psychotic minimal, house and techno sounds, you might just have found your musical mix–Mecca.
(Renaissance Recordings | 12") Child prodigy James Zabiela known as one of the tastemakers of the Renaissance label is well known for his technically gifted turntable skills and doesn't need a kind of any introduction.
(MK2 Music | CD) A few years ago, two small groups of people in Amsterdam had the privilege to watch and listen to Fritz Lang's movie Metropolis in a special edited version. Jeff Mills provided the new edit together with a soundtrack, produced/composed for this old (1927) movie from the silent era.
(Uncivilized World | CD) Jennifer is a new name to me, but not to the French techno scene where she has been a resident of the Parisian Automatik parties for over a few years now. Representing the sound of her own "Lust" night she releases an album full of Germanish techno tracks on the Uncivilized World label.
(Sino | CD) 26 year old dutch dj/producer Joris Voorn, who was voted "Upcoming Talent" at the Dutch Dj Awards in 2003 and 2004 now releases his debut album 'Future History' on Technasia's Sino label.
(M_nus | CD) Today’s modern DJ does not seem to create mix CD’s anymore by means of turntables; the computer is taking over. In Magda’s case this is a joyful fact since she managed to put 71 tracks on it!
(M_nus | 2x12") With this album Marc Houle really seems to be building on the way that was once started by such legends as Daniel Bell and Robert Hood. His sound represents the roots of minimal and he proofs that this sound still fits perfectly in the current minimal techno scene.
(EC Records | 2xCD) Holland's most well known techno DJ and producer Michel de Hey delivers a nice doubler showing his "2 Faces"; one more minimalistic and one being more the Michel we used to know.
(Sender Records | CD) In short the album is solid, though it will bore you pretty soon I’m afraid, it’s not one coherent piece. I have the feeling that Christopher Bleckmann and Hannes Wenner are looking for their sound and form, the warmer stuff is nice, the rest quite boring.
(Labels | CD) Caroline Herve alias Miss Kittin releases her debut solo album "I Com" where again her characteristic voice oozes a Kittin-sauce on every song.
(Bpitch Control | CD) For some reason the German Modeselektor have this French vibe around them. Judging their new album "Hello Mom!" they surely have a strong affection with France. Bpitch' latest addition to their gem-collection.
(Playhouse | CD) The Berlin based musical trio My My (Carsten Klemann, Lee Jones and Nick Hoppner) have been hailed as the up-and-coming performers and producers on the metropolis’ tumultuous electronic music scene. With a residency at Watergate, regular gigs in most of the major clubs and numerous international performances, My My has in the past year indeed been inquiring a solid reputation both in Germany and abroad. Following 3 successful dance-floor hits they have now released their debut long-playing ‘Songs for the Gentle’ (Playhouse Records).
(Manual Music | CD) What's in a name? Well... For all I know Sound Shifting delivers what it promises; a good 75 minutes long mix cd that never fails to keep you attended.
(Mute Records (UK) | CD/DVD) Richie Hawtin is dreaming of the future again. More than 15 years after he began exploring new frontiers in electronic dance music, he is redefining the idea of what a DJ can be.
(Furry Music | 12") From the first microsecond I heard this track I just HAD to write something about it! Looking up some information about this release only amazed me more; Roel H appears to be a Dutch producers I've not heard of (which is pretty rare in our small country) published on a label I'd never heard of (which is understandable by the way, I'm no real trainspotter) Furry Music.
(Bpitch Control | CD) After Kiki's first attempt on the BoogieBytes series, this time its Berlin based Sascha Funke to "do his thing". A beautiful and well constructed mix is the result.
(Renaissance Recordings | 3xCD) Renaissance is delighted to announce a very fresh start for 2006: 3D, a compilation that welcomes a new concept and DJ to the label's ever-growing series of albums.
(Soma Quality Recordings | CD) Slam is Stuart McMillen and Orde Meikle. Of ‘Year Zero’, Meikle has said, "What we used to play when we started djing was niche-less, a very eclectic mix of music. We wanted to return to these influences but draw something fresh out of them". ‘Year Zero’ is just that: a varied, cutting-edge take on electro, house and tech genres.
(Poker Flat Recordings | CD) The funkmaster and labelboss from Pokerflat does it again. With this new mix-album Steve Bug leads us through his view on today's progression in house music, and we follow him willingly.
(PIAS | CD) Being the biggest indoor techno party in the world, I Love Techno releases a mix CD every year. This year Belgian techno front man T-Quest had the honour to compile the album, which he did in style.
(Taksi Music | CD) German technoclown Galuzzi teams up with whats-in-a-name Brtschitsch as Taksi to deliver a strong, divers and non-chaotic debut album.
(Virgin Records (UK) | CD) After "Come with us" was gunned down by the critics, the Brothers went back to their original concept; making the music THEY like! "Push the Button" is a reflection on the broad spectrum that calls itself "Chemical".
(M_nus | CD) The long-awaited min2MAX album from the M_nus posse will hit the stores in the coming weeks; time for a sneak preview through our minimal goggles.
(KOMPAKT | 3x12") The infamous German label Kompakt releases their seventh compilation, filled with some of their best previous released tracks and new material.
(Karmarouge Records | MP3) A year ago I said minimal would be dead by now, seems I was wrong... it's more alive than ever before. This fact is proven again and again by the likes of Kompakt, Karmarouge and other obscure German (and Dutch!) labels.
(Renaissance Recordings | 2xCD) The quality UK label Renaissance has had some great releases these last few months. To enhance your summer-feel this “Sound of Renaissance – Ibiza” is a very welcome addition.
(Cartridge | 12") John Andersson and Johan Emmoth are the creative duo behind Zoo Brazil. This is their first visit to the Cartridge laboratory and a very nice debut.
