He’s the bad boy of the Amsterdam techno underground: Daniel Sanchez, 26 year old son of a Spanish father and a Dutch mother, who scored one of the biggest hits of the summer of 2007 with the infectious ‘Mumbling yeah’. Daniel’s ‘mumbling’ vocals give the track that special edge.
Tegenstellingen leiden tot de mooiste dingen, zo blijkt ook uit de samenwerking tussen disco-housemeester Hans-Peter Lindstrøm en zangeres Christabelle Sandoo, voorheen bekend als Solale.
Thanks to his dad Dica grew up with electronic music by J.M. Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schultze, Space, Charlie Mike Sierra, Johan Timman, Alphaville and lots of others. Strongly influenced by the artists mentioned, Dica found his way to the recordstores and started collecting his own vinyl in the early nineties. After buying one of the first relaeses on Bunker Records a neverending love for underground music was born. And what's there to say about the Leiden based DJ/organiser at this time? He's still just your average guy that loves to play electronic dance music dated from the late seventies till present day. Dica likes to play long sets in which he can combine disco with acid, italo, electro, [chicago/detroit]house and other obscurities not suitable for the narrowminded. Dica also spins his tunes under the name of Klaus Bonnewitz. Aware of the fact that the music industry has been digitalised, he plays vinyl only.
Together with DJ Patrique, Dica is the founder of Stilo Magnifique, an organisation which promotes electronic dance music in a broad sense. Stilo throws various parties and the monthly ‘Sound Travels Radio’ show. More info at www.stilomagnifique.nl
