Spanish techno giants Cristian Varela and DJ Pepo will team up again on November 22nd at Awakenings to close the event with a 2-hour set of Techno with Spanish flair.

The incentive for Martin Böhm aka Housemeister, to become a DJ, was ‚making music with no gaps‘. He was influenced from early childhood on by icons like the Pet Shop Boys, 2 Live Crew, Technotronic and the KLF. After getting his first set of turntables in 1994, he starts off with supplying mixed tapes to his circle of friends. Housemeister sharpened his skills by appearances in café’s, as a first platform. He quickly became known for his pure house sets and soon after was putting on music for the radio stations KISS FM and FRITZ. A steady maturing process had started, that made DJ Housemeister become an institution to the Berlin club scene. As a resident DJ for the Berlin Matrix from 1997 to 1999, where he rocked the house with his bombastic sets, he had his breakthrough beyond the city limits. Not rigidity and specialising are his goals, but much more so the playful and flexible game with the multilayered techno spectrum. He feels comfortable with events like the Christopher Street Day (97/ 9 and Fuck Parade (99/ 00 and 01), giant raves and open airs, as well as performing on tranquil, more private venues. Together with his fellow DJ Djoker Daan (Resident DJ Tresor), he organised his first regular club night called ‚who the fuck is murphy ?‘ in his second homebase, the legendary Discount / Suicide Club. A Tour trought the eastern part of Germany followed, due to the massive success of this event. Today, DJ Housemeister is a household name in renowned clubs as the Casino, Sternradio, SO 36, Tresor etc. He now is the resident DJ for Sternradio Berlin, Casino Berlin, Global Village Dessau and member of the artist collective of the Bpitch Control Label.
The ambition to focus on music production has been on DJ Housemeister‘s mind for quite some time. This is resulting in his first release on Bpitch Control (Bpctrl # 053 - Wake Up EP). With his brandnew imprint Berlin.Kraft he’s providing a platform for ideas & experiments, the first record is to be released in September 02. Constantly being on tour throughout Germany and now Russia, Japan & Mexico, too, he offers “soundresearch with elements of avantgarde and pop”. Experiencing his sets, one can look forward to techno at its best. And that, DJ Housemeister brings across with the kind of dedication to music, that generates the atmosphere to take the clubbing fraternity exactly to where he wants them to.
