Hey mates...
I am new at this site, and telling the truth I have to say that this site is completely amazing.
I am planning to visit the Awakeknings NEW YEAR SPECIAL EDITION. Since this will be me first time, I would like to gain some help from you.
1) How about the venue (Gransiilo - Maasilo)? Is it big and nice?
2) What about the lineup on that night? Who do you think they'll put for this special edition? Any confirmed names pls?
3) Is it Hotel Baan (Rotterdam) ideal to stay in the nearby of the event?

Hey dude,
welcome to Beatfreax.
The Maassilo is a pretty big venue. It has multiple areas, one of them is located at the tenth story. It has multiple hallways you can walk through in which you can meet a lot of people who are chilling and rolling some fatty's.
I think it is a bit early to start guessing what the line up will be, but since it is New Years Eve I expect it will be solid.
I do recommend another hotel.
the Home hotel, located in the Witte de Withstreet. It is a nice hotel build in old appartements.

I don't know the exact prices of the rooms, but they are both located in one of the coolest streets of Rotterdam and it's in the centre. The Baan hotel is located just a bit out side of the centre.
The Maassilo is located in the south of Rotterdam, but it is easily reachable by public transport. From the Witte the With it is 5 minute walk to the subway which will take you directly to the Maassilo.

So...
I took your advise on the accommodation. Definetly I will be staying more nearby with Home Hotel, and is not that expensive too.
Lineup rumours has not started yet....but could anyone of you give a hint of who might play at the awakeknings NYE Special? I am very curious since it's my first time at the awakeknings...CAN'T WAIT!!

OK thats awesome. Have the likes of Laurent Garnier and Aphex Twin ever played at an Awakeknings? and if no, do you think it's possible? I have found videos of Aphex playin at Oxegen Festival in Ireland, and seemed really immense.

I think the line up will be announced around October.
The first weekend of October the Westergas-weekend-edition of Awakenings will take place and I think the line-up voor NY will be published then (flyer, APE package or something like that).

Lineup in two weeks mates... Just saw the awakenings newsletter. It's official that the party will last for 10 hours...
Rumours for lineup concerns liebing, speedy j, faki, pet duo, p. arkus, natus, amok.
