Kerst is natuurlijk niks zonder een goed diner en een kerstboom! Kerst is niks zonder sneeuw(!), kerst is niks zonder sinterklaas. Maar wat natuurlijk ook niet kan missen om de kerstdagen goed af te sluiten is een dijk :) van een feest.
Aan Traxx uit Chicago de eer om het spits af te bijten. Hij heeft ons een mix toegestuurd waarmee hij een andere kant van zichzelf laat horen, namelijk zijn reflectie van The Music Box. In die club uit Chicago heeft hij begin jaren '80 regelmatig dj-legende Ron Hardy aan het werk gezien. Door velen beschouwd als één van de kernfiguren die eigenhandig het begrip "dj'en" heeft gemaakt tot hoe wij het nu kennen, en ook voor Traxx tot op de dag vandaag nog altijd zijn voornaamste inspiratiebron is.
Verwacht een avontuurlijke mix van obscuur materiaal uit de jaren '80 en enkele nieuwe - nog uit te komen - jaktracks. Enjoy!
Each artist has a style of its own. -Traxx- Influenced by Ron Hardy, Farley JmF, Liaisons Dangereuses, 808 State, Phuture the drippy experimental counterpoint basslines of the 303 and similar squelch style step-seq arpeggiations, trax of the 80's-90's sound (only the jackingest variety), interestingly juxtaposed and sometimes nonmusical hypnotic cycle phrases in dance music. The Composer and Recording Artist, Traxx, calls combinations of these elements "the kode". This musical code can be found in many styles of dance and ritual music and is a crucial element in the sound.
Collaborations: Saturn V - with James T Cotton. A frequent collaborator. Traxx also edited tracks on forthcoming TNT despite the lack of any text on the label.
