Hola People!
We would like to announce some new plans we have, that have to do with Beatfreax. After almost ten years now, this community is growing so massively that we feel like it’s time to organize a night(s) for us freax together. A lot of members know each other by community-name, and a small group also in real life, but it’s always nice to see the face behind a name after all those freaky discussions. We have enough to talk about on the net, and everybody loves music, so a positive vibe is guaranteed! There have been some parties linked to this community in the past, like “Beachfreax”, “No Historical Backspin”, “Beatfreax @ Winston International”, and so on. But we think it’s time to take some new steps into this direction (and it’s been a while), starting with a small community-night @ TWSTd on Saturday the 9th of December 2006.
We thought of a concept that invites you (freax!), TWSTd and us to participate in the night. Why not do it together, after all it’s a community. The plan is that this night is a kick-off for Beatfreax-related parties in the near future, like we have a 10 years anniversary coming in April 2007 and a massive beach party in the summer. More info will follow soon enough. But back to the concept of the night in TWSTd.
So the location is TWSTd, the date is the 9th of December, the decoration is thought out (but suggestions are always welcome of course!), so now we come to the line-up part for this night.
We would like to invite members to publish their “homemade” sets on the forum by the steps shown below. We keep it possible to place and listen to your sets till Tuesday the 21th of November. Then the contest stops, but of course discussions are still possible. After this date we place a poll online to point out the 4 favorites artists. So you could see this as a kind of online-spinning-contest. It’s a community-party, so participate and show what you got. If everything goes well and the people are loving it, you could be invited for more Beatfreax-related events and many others gigs in the future. It’s up to you.
Two more things, if you are practicing with a live-act, please place it on the forum! It will be stunning if we have one live-act to participate, to make the night complete. It’s all about creativity, love for music, passion, good personalities and talent for us. So to finish off the line-up we will invite one bigger name out off the scene to join us, more info will follow soon about who the artist is.
We will participate actively on the forum-topic so if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free and we hope to see you on Saturday the 9th of December 2006 @ TWSTd.
To place your set, following these steps:
1. Open your favorite FTP program, or find a nerd-friend to do this for you.
2. Enter the following information:
Server: ftp.servage.net
User: twstd
Password: beatfreax
3. Upload your set to this directory (please be so kind not to touch other peoples sets)
4. Your set will now be reachable through this link:
http://www.beatcasts.com/beatfreax/your_set.mp3
5. Post it in this thread

Don't know if i can be present because Amsterdam isn't really around the corner. Going to Amsterdam is always
more expensive then you expect...hehehe..
But...nice!

People who want to post their own sets; I will create an easy upload-script somewhere tomorrow, so you won't have to use a FTP program.
In stead of posting your set in this thread, please use the LIVESETS forum and select type BEATFREAX PROMO. Thanx and see ya'll the 9th!

Really want to know what kind of dj-sets people will upload for this evening.
At the other hand, I know some of our own crew-members can spin nice records! Like Rik with his nice minimal tunes or Lieven, who loves the housy sound of techno........ and ofcourse web himself!! And Wizzz and H from the BenH part 
Damn, all music-freaks as well........
Anyway, for sure we drop by this saturday and hope to meet some of you.

We are very sorry freax... But because we are really way too busy (and under-occupied) in our team at the moment we've decided to prospone the community night. Next summer we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary, probably on the beach somewhere.
For this event you can still post your set as explained! We'll keep you posted. In the meantime, this topic will be closed shortly...
