Gaspard Augé (27) en Xavier de Rosnay (24) vormen de Franse band Justice. Sinds hun naamloze debuutalbum in 2007 worden ze gekatapulteerd tot rocksterren en zijn ze in rap tempo de wereld aan het veroveren met hun overweldigende sound en kenmerkende optredens met een enorm verlicht kruis.
After his summer smash hit "Napolitanzer" together with Fokko Versloot it was time for Beatfreax to ask him to do a mix for our podcast. And here it is! An awesome mix with tracks by e.g. Nils Number, Dimitri Andreas, Lopazz and of course the man himself.
Weer een beetje bijgekomen van alle hossel rondom de feestdagen? Mooi, maak je borst(en) dan maar nat! Voidd komt namelijk op zaterdag 10 januari al met een voornemen waar je nieuwe agenda niet snel genoeg kennis mee kan maken.
Op vrijdag 9 januari 2009 geeft Franse Techno godfather Laurent Garnier één van de laatste dj-sets uit zijn carrière weg. Het feestje gaat door in de befaamde Antwerpse club Café d'Anvers, die dit jaar trouwens al 20 jaar bestaat.
Having booked a last minute trip to Ibiza the nice people from Cocoon invited us to check out their weekly night at Amnesia. Cocoon Club has been doing parties there for a few years now and they seem to be the techno-highlight of the mostly trance-dominated island. Headliners for this night were Funk d’Void, electromeister Anthony Rother and hero Richie Hawtin.
When we arrived around 00:30u the club was still pretty empy, I could believe my eyes with a line-up like this. The flyers where spread everywhere around the island and Sven’s face almost seems an icon when you walk through Eivissa. Funk d’Void was allready playing some familiar tunes and so we had some time to check out the club. At first sight it doesn’t seem to be that big. The main room has a balcony, few stages and some amazing effects like sparkling lights, steam-cannons and a great looking dj-booth. The second room has trees, is very high and a glass roof. Here you could still get those funny laughinggas-ballons, amazing that they’re legal over there.
In the meanwhile the people started to find their way to the club and it was getting busier. When Anthony Rother began his live-set the club was packed and everybody was loving it! Even Richie, Mr C and Sven himself where dancing their asses off.
This club is really full of surprises. Not only does it look very beautiful, there are allways things happening around you. People with giant masks of Väth, Villalobos and Hawtin, a loud bang followed by a blazing cold steaming-cannon, dancers, great visuals, it’s a real complete party.
At 04:00u it was time for Hawtin to do his finalscratch-magic. His set was a bit similair to the one at Awakenings 20-04, louder than at the Melkweg and extremely dance-able. And again that great Monstertruckdriver-track (T.Raumschmiere) totally shredded by his laptop and FX.
In the other room M.A.N.D.Y and Mar-T where doing superb set as well. Great music, from electro to techno to disco, all with a tremendous drive.
We’ll certainly remember this party! Cocoon Club @ Amnesia is a real complete night out with everything a party needs! Great music, nice atmosphere (cheers on every mix Hawtin did) and a beautiful location. We’d like to thank the Cocoon-people for inviting us, keep up the good work!
