After his summer smash hit "Napolitanzer" together with Fokko Versloot it was time for Beatfreax to ask him to do a mix for our podcast. And here it is! An awesome mix with tracks by e.g. Nils Number, Dimitri Andreas, Lopazz and of course the man himself.

Another minimal night has graced London; Sud Electronic presenting Trapez, Traum and Mbf was brought successfully by Lakuti and friends to an audience in the middle of the business district of London. A strange place to do a party but appropriate. The venue for last night event was designed like a maze, which brought different variety to a normal box like dancing space and it worked. The soundsytem was correctly place so everyone in every corner would get the same sound.
Arriving at just after midnight to a small queue, greeted by friendly door people and introduced myself to some of the organiser. The party was almost in flow but still lacking the audience. We were greeted with a set by Marco Shuttle which build up the atmosphere. The party was in full flow by the time the first live act was ready. Sud's own Portable opened the live set to a cheer from the crowd. He delivered a good live set with the help of a laptop and two 'cute' (J.L. Cooper & faderfox?) midi controller. Alan started the Sud Electronic label back in 2002, with background music arranging from 80's hip hop, African rhythm and to a more 4/4 beats its hard to describe the sound that he has produced apart from being a good solid production, and a well prepared live set.
Up next was Madrid's Alex Under, who has been busy with a few releases in the beginning of 2006. At this event he was representing Trapez. With a good history of releases under different labels, his live set would not disappoint anyone with an ear to minimal electronic music. We were treated to some of his more familiar older tracks and a lot of the newer tracks from Collage and Apnea. His experiences in production and live sets were clearly on show. His confidence in building his music was acknowledged by the crowd, the energy level was incredible and you could feel in every corner of the maze.
Around two hours of excellent music, it was time for the baton to entertain the people to handed to Lakuti. Sadly it was time for me to depart as well. The party was a success because the combination of good music and cool friendly people. Although there has been a lot of mention in London's music scene that minimal has become saturated with people doing the same thing, it just means that now, after 3-4 years, Londoners can choose. Peace.
