Beatfreax podcast: Koen Lebens
After his summer smash hit "Napolitanzer" together with Fokko Versloot it was time for Beatfreax to ask him to do a mix for our podcast. And here it is! An awesome mix with tracks by e.g. Nils Number, Dimitri Andreas, Lopazz and of course the man himself.

My choice for the ADE weekend was of course the 2 days of Boem Tsjak in Pakhuis Wilhelmina. Klakson, Delsin and Vynalogica have got together and programmed one of the finest artists. This very friendly venue never dissapointed me and is for sure one of the nicest alternative places in Amsterdam.

Boem Tsjak part II

This time we entered the Pakhuis around 22:30. Delsin's label boss Peel Seamus was spinning some very nice records to warm up the people who where coming in slowly. After his set mister Stefan Robbers aka Terrace began his liveshow. This Dutch techno pioneer and owner of the famous Eevolute label is on my must see list for years now so I finally had the chance to see this man performing live. He began slowly with some nice breaking beats and warm deep sounds into it constructed. After a while he was coming up more deeper with pumping buzzing beats and very beautifull soundscape compositions. After some 45 minutes of performing he had to quit, that was really a shame because it just sounded like this was only the beginning and some more beautifull electronics where coming up. But no grieve, it was a real pleasure to see and hear this legend on stage! Rotterdam based producer and dj Duplex followed behind the wheels of steel with a very good dj-set. He played nice records, old Detroit stuff and even some Basic Channels came out of the speakers, that's the shit!

Just like the day before there was this ultra anoying mc who was talking bad shit again. He really sucked with his ugly sunglasses and his crappy talking the whole night, why do these well respected organizers hire this guy? A real shame.... After this lovely dj-set of Duplex the French producer Dynarec had set up his gear and started to rock the Wilhelmina with dirty electro rhythms. I never heard this guy before but he made a positive impact on me. Good constructed beats with smooth and slamming soundwaves came together as one great energy flash! The friendly crowd also enjoyed this act and everybody was dancing the whole time. The back-to-back dj battle between Pametex, the legendary Viewlexx/Clone electro producer and Newworldaquarium kept the crowd going on. They played some very nice old classics, Chi house and other rare stuff you don't hear very often played by regular dj's. Highlight was hearing mr Fingers - i'm wrong, damn that is one hell of an amazing good record! After this stunning dj set Dexter started his livegig. I liked his set but he was not real good in my opinion. It was the more regular electro sound he was giving, I like the more darker stuff better.

The second last live act of this Boem Tsjak was presented by the two hero's Legowelt and Orgue Electronic who are touring together all around the world. Their set was totally improvised and they where armed with some heavy analoque equipment. Very dark pumping percussions connected with screaming synthesizer waves made this the best performance of the evening for me, damn they launched some awesome stuff through the speakers! After this liveset I decided to leave the Wilhelmina so I missed Steffi's dj-set. These 2 days of Boem Tsjak where very good, only quality music by the dj's and live acts, a very friendly crowd and of course the niceand friendly staff and cheap prices of Pakhuis Wilhelmina! I'm looking forward to the next quality nights in this great location!!
