Quince is recognized as one of Holland's biggest talents in the techno scene. Since his first release in 2006 on Amsterdam's Delsin label, he impressed with his well produced, warm house sounds.

The quality UK label Renaissance has had some great releases these last few months. To enhance your summer-feel this “Sound of Renaissance – Ibiza” is a very welcome addition.
This doubler tries to translate the Ibiza-summer feel straight to the comfort your home with one “Beach” and one “Club” mix. The first one holds some beautiful tracks which you bound to have heard at any given beach shack world wide. From the wonderful sounds of Rae & Christian’s “Spellbound” (damn that sticks in your head!), to Shirley Bassey & Groove Armada’s “Never, Never, Never” (fabulous – love the break!). Gillespie’s kick-ass bass line, Coldcut & John Matthias’ epic emo-sound or Frontera’s summery disco style, it’s all good!
Besides that, if you put Orbital’s “Belfast” on a compilation you can’t do anything wrong in my book!
CD2 is dedicated to the club site of Ibiza. It starts out nicely with Phonique’s interpretation of Skye’s “What’s Wrong With Me?” and upcoming producer Claude Von Stroke with “Who’s Afraid of Detroit?”. Inland Knight’s “Foot & Mouth” African-chants should break some cheers at Bora Bora for sure. I think I’ve never really heard a “bad” track from the Tiefschwarz brothers and this “Damage” featuring Tracey Thorn is no exception - imagine the sun going down over the sea and this track playing, ah yeah!
With Cult 45’s “True 2 Life” kicking in things are really heating up, and by the time Montero’s “Hairy Hits” kicks in things are on fire!
Surprisingly (I’m quite tired of all those Ibiza-compilations) this album really stands out; quality track selection, well arranged and carefully chosen. After listening to it over and over it’s not getting boring and it really adds something to those sunny days – both the laidback ones and the dance-your-ass-off ones.
Best track:
- CD1: Orbital – Belfast
- CD2: Montero – Hairy Hits (house mix)
