Op vrijdag 26 december zal VOLTT dit jaar nog eenmaal goed uitpakken voor een knallende afsluiting van 2008. Op 2e kerstdag zal de Paradiso namelijk in het teken staan van VOLTT met een hoop vooruitstrevend talent en gerenommeerde artiesten.
In navolging van het overdonderende geweld op het tot nok toe gevulde CLiCK feest tijdens het Amsterdam Dance Event krap twee maanden geleden, maakt de organisatie zich op voor een nog meeslepender en vooral intiemer spektakel.
De jaarwisseling neemt altijd een beetje spanning met zich mee, meestal met de grote groep dierbaren die je hebt is het altijd een beetje onderling onderhandelen. Wel uit, niet uit, wel thuis, niet thuis, wel afteren, niet afteren, wel werken, niet werken...
Static disappointing after Loco Dice’s cancellation
Last Saturday Static had booked Düsseldorf-based dj/producer Loco Dice in club 11 for his third performance ever in Holland. Having heard some superb sets from this man, my expectations were high for this evening. But unfortunately, shortly after ordering my first drink, word spread that Loco Dice was not going to perform. He had missed his flight. Instead Static-organizer Bart Skils would do a 6-hour solo set. With all due respect to Bart Skils, but this was a bit of a bummer.
Nevertheless, Loco Dice’s absence didn’t have to mean that the night would have to be a disappointment. It was Bart Skils’ task to save the day. And the Static-organizer did his best to please the crowd, from time to time playing some familiar records without losing momentum. It was a decent set with a good drive.
But he never really got me and the rest of the crowd going. Although lots of people were dancing throughout the night, the overall atmosphere tended to be a bit dull. 11 is renowned for the impressive setting and its credible line-ups, but its public is not known to be the most ecstatic around. Tonight proved to be not really different.
Around 0400 the night was over me. I had good fun, but musically it had not been more than average. Bart Skils could not make up for Loco Dice not performing. So a real shame for both the public and Static that Loco Dice didn’t turn up. Better luck next time!

Did you ever hear Loco Dice playing? The times I hearded him he wasn't above average and certainly not better than Bart Skills.
Maybe you're right and Bart Skils could not make it up for him. It's not Bart Skils who disappointed me, but mr Dobbelsteen.
I have some Loco Dice dj-sets on my pc,and i really dig those sets,but I've never heard him "live". That's why I was really looking forward to last saturday night. Off course Loco Dice could have disappointed me (as happens often when you hear them dj live), but alas now I will have to wait..too bad.
