Full Spectrum @ Tivoli 19-05-2006

With a lot of different locations, such as; Ekko, More, Club 11, Kingdom the Venue, Poema, Doornroosje and Patronaat, Full Spectrum stroke down @ Tivoli for their next edition.

The diversity of artists in there program and line-ups is something very special. There have been a lot of respectful names at their parties; Acid Junkies, Dominik Eulberg, Superpitcher, Nathan Fake, Bart Skils, Petar Dundov, Alex smoke and Robert Hood to name a few.

The diversity in their program shows that this organization really likes electronic music, from minimal pitching it up to the harder banging’ beats.

For the first time going to Tivoli and not knowing what to expect from the place it was nice to see that there was no line in front of the Tivoli at a few minutes past twelve. Quickly we went inside, already knowing we had missed the resident of the Full Spectrum parties; Nuno dos Santos.

Kompakt label owner Michael Mayer was invited this edition to make the crowd go wild for four hours! (Other owners of this label are Wolfgang Voigt and Jurgen Paape.)
Michael Mayer; the person I was really looking forward to, was already behind the wheels of steel and was really giving it his best shot, but to make a good party it’s necessary that you have a good sound system at your club and that was something that disappointed me a little over at Tivoli.

Because of the bad sound it was very tough for Michael to get his set in best shape, the first two hours he played a lot of peaceful tunes; he likes to sample some melodies, then use just a small part, mix it up, twist it and squeeze it as long as it stays a little recognizable and then make his own record. He makes some sort of pop-ambient melodies and serves it with a lot of whipped cream….

I felt the last two hours of his set he really connected with the crowd, he used a lot of good records with uplifting minimal; from deep to funky, from energetic to psychedelic melodies. Was it just because of the sound or did I hear Michael do a lot better at other parties?

One thing is for sure; I’ve had a very nice evening at a nice place with a nicely mixed crowd; who definitely would shake there ass more if the tunes Mayer played would have been heard better…..

I had an ok night at the Tivoli..... But Mayer wasn't that good as at the other party's that I heard him... He didn't take me on a trip with his records... tooo bad! but I had fun anyway.... And all the pictures I took, sucks really hard... It was to dark at the Tivoli. Hopefully Mayer is in shape the 16th of June in Barcelona!!!

Mayer was playing like a wet newspaper! Not even close to his set on 5 days off 2005. To bad but had a ok evening anyway.

I didn't really like it as well. Not even close to his LFP set. And i really had my hopes up after his Doornroosje set, which was not as good as well After made my day though! Had a good time!

i had a great night with great people!!! mm was okay, not as good as usual but i didn't care. great weekend, thanks peeps!!! i love the pictures here also!

it was a nice set from mister mayer, heard some nice tunes... but I wanted to relive his set @ 5 days off last year, but that wasn't the case... he can make it up to me @ sonar!

Music sucked really! If you did put the voice of marco borsato on top it was the trance hit number one! Lots of breaks and the crowd was standing&talking instead of dancing. The toilet music was even better (grease Lightning... dum dum dum jeah!) Had a great time though with everybody!!!

I am really curious why most of you are so negative about this night with der Mayer. I agree he didn't rock all the time, but again he played some amazing tunes!

Off course you'll never relive the 5 Days Off set last year, if you keep on referring to that nothing's ever gonna' be close or good!

The sound could've been better, but was allright... Anyway, had a great time, met a lot of "old" friends and the atmosphere was fine.

Es gab Zeiten, da ging man einfach so in Clubs. Vor allem wegen der Musik, der Atmosphäre und der schönen (innen wie außen) Menschen, die man dort treffen konnte. Wer auflegte, war egal. Was aufgelegt wurde, dagegen nicht.
