He’s the bad boy of the Amsterdam techno underground: Daniel Sanchez, 26 year old son of a Spanish father and a Dutch mother, who scored one of the biggest hits of the summer of 2007 with the infectious ‘Mumbling yeah’. Daniel’s ‘mumbling’ vocals give the track that special edge.
Tegenstellingen leiden tot de mooiste dingen, zo blijkt ook uit de samenwerking tussen disco-housemeester Hans-Peter Lindstrøm en zangeres Christabelle Sandoo, voorheen bekend als Solale.

With a lot of special festivals in Germany we went for a trip this time……….on the way to Berlin, where the Love Parade was being held, we went a little more to the south; a place called Ferropolis with his Melt! Festival. This would going to be a very splendid weekend according to the info I’ve received;
Clash of the titans:
Once upon a time they lived in separate tribes and threatened each other with fists and clubs. At best, they ignored each other: Song vs. track. Beat against song. But where music is happening there are now unmistakable signs that this antagonism is a thing of the past. Guitar acts happily snuggle up to DJ’s while laptop nerds bounce around on stage as if they were Kiss in 1979 and nowhere is this exciting new musical symbiosis brought to life across the scenes as it is at Melt! The most importing protagonists of all genres meet here at the “summit of good taste”. Melt! Festival is Germany’s only festival that combines Indierock with electronic beats. At Melt!, just as many bands as DJ’s perform on site; for 3 days, 24 hours a day.
And speaking of Titans: year after year, the Melt! Festival’s incredible backdrop awes its visitors. The festival takes place on the grounds of a former surface mining area; steel colossi rise over open fields, outlined against a shimmering lake. This festival is as tasteful as it is emotional, as immense as it is cosy, as calm as it is loud. A “Love Shack” for the indietronic heart.
Melt! Had a very diverse line-up last weekend with two great main acts; on Friday there were the Pet Shop Boys and on Saturday we had a special live act of Aphex Twin. There were 4 stages on the festival area, the main; which looked like a big square, people were sitting everywhere and the place was surrounded by some old diggers; they look really stunning!
Then there was the Melt! Klub, it was inside a building, a mixture of different kinds of music, some friends also heard a punk set over there.
The third stage was a tent which had acts like: Hell, Miss Kittin, Mocky, 2manydj’s, digitalism and more……especially Hell really kicked ass over at this stage, too bad he was on the same time planned as the Pet Shop Boys.
The last area was the Big wheel stage, to me the most impressive area with a lot of good electronic music; Ellen Allien was a highlight for me and also Mathias Kaden on a Sunday morning will give you Goosebumps all over your body. When all area’s were closed on what day so ever? Then you could swim at the lake and make a little dance at the red bull stage, this stage was the sleepless area outside the official terrain , with relaxing electronic sounds of names like; Markus Meinhard, Zip and Matt John. We’ve had a lot of funny hours over there….truly not to forget!
Still there is a lot I can tell about this festival, but it is hard to give words to such a weekend, just take a look at all the pictures and to all the freaks I can say: just go and see for yourself!
