Words by: Webster!
Finally, the first Traffic of 2006 took place in the ‘old hall’ of the Melkweg and with the great line up this edition should become a memorable one.

Lauhaus opened for a slowly filling floor with some lovely hip-shaking minimal tunes. At the end of his set the ‘old hall’ was filled with a nice crowd and the atmosphere was set due to the many regular visitors and techno addicts. Bart Skils continued with a good built up set via some Detroit tunes towards the more dark and heavy off beat techno to prepare the crowd for the first live act: Female.

This producer appeared on stage in the Netherlands for the first time and many people were looking forward to his performance due to his great productions. His sound existing of several layers has many influences and going into the deep he conducted part of the crowd with him on his trip.

In the toilet area the ‘toilet ladies’ of the Mesjokke dj-team, which consist of Aron Friedman and Brent Roozendaal, had a five hour battle to keep the toilets clean and to serve you even some great music. There was a really loose and open atmosphere due to the location and there were a lot of people dancing in front of the small dj-booth. Going to the toilet or the café often resulted in a stop that was longer than planned in this area.

After Female’s live set Regis started with his recognizable Downwards sound; dark and powerful resulting in an enthusiast crowd that was dancing and screaming. The typical Traffic vibe was all over the place. As seen before Regis grabbed the microphone again to produce some more noise completing his live act. His set was banging and he seems to be better and better every performance. With such a satisfying set one could be pleased, but there was even more to come.

Inigo Kennedy, the man behind the Assymetric label, was for the largest part of the audience the reason to be present. Known for his deep and obstinate sets combined with great dj skills the expectations were high. From the start it was obvious he would not disappoint; with three decks and cd he created an incredible sound with some unexpected side steps. At the end of his set he even played an old hardcore track.

It was a great night with lots of quality music a great atmosphere and thus for now already one of the best parties in 2006.

absolutely a great edition! All dj's were wicked. Lauhaus with an good warm up, Bart Skils went in a little deeper then he usual plays, female was also nice, sometimes he was a little hard to follow, but regis went on in a good way. Regis took the mic and used it to change his voice into a sort of electro clash record. The rest of his set was banging, but it was really nice to see this man growing in his act. For me the first time I seen a mic in his hands.
Inigo Kennedy was really the man of the match, his mixing skills are very impressive and he really used the max out of the 3 decks. It looks so simple when you see this man at work.

Inigo was the man that used the hardcore in his set. That was also the only time I was really amazed and I hope he will not do that often.

Cool atmosphere! Nice nice nice.....
