but..
After two days of eating Christmas dinners I wasn't ready to dance in a smell of food (as 11 is also a restaurant). But looking back at the evening that wasn't even the biggest bummer.
Biggest bummer I found the lame atmosphere on the dancefloor as it was overcrowded with people chatting like they were in a bar.
The music was nice.. Bart never disappoints his audience and also Jerome and Bug were giving all they got, but there was no chemistry in the air.
To all known faces and friends; thanks for the nice evening. Let's find a party to party next time.

last 1.5h there was an atmosphere infront of the dj booth and on the left side. It was crowded but not overcrowded. I had a great party. for me the 11 is one of the places to be in Amsterdam I realy like the club.
Moodyman's shades of jay still has it after 7 years

the space and view is amazing, the line-up is good and the soundsystem is one of the best in the country, so how can you say the club has no party atmosphere?
there was a good crowd behind the dj-booth and in front and next to it people were dancing and shouting all night. So if you don't think there's party atmosphere, get your ass from the back of the room and come to the front and make yourself heard, like on every good party.

A agree on almost everything but not on the soundsystem thing....the sound is good in the left corner but in the the rest of the place it really "schel"... There is no bass...

The sound was not too bad, I liked the way they flipped the DJ booth around so it was far more ejoyable than my previous visit to 11 (Pixel, with Meinhardt).

The sounds where much better as the last time's in club 11.
But i definetly dont think this is the best you can get in our little country.

Agree.. they might have one of the best systems in the world... but I must say it's the light version.
Nothing compared to the F1 systems I've heard at Jimmy Woo or Space!
Great party... go Bart, go Bart!

people that say it's 'schel' are spoilt by all the bad systems and dj mixers that have dominated Amsterdam/Dutch nightlife for years. This is a system built for especially for electronic music with great definition, clarity and sub bass. Most other club systems are much more mainstream music orientated, and therefore sound different. I at least prefer the direct sound of Funktion One

I like the way he pushes the boundaries, blending different styles of house and techno together to form a coherent set. He doesn't always pull it off, but at least he tries.... and in the 11 everything fell into place I think.
By the way.. Being annoyed all the time about people chatting on the dancefloor isn't gonna get you anywhere. Positivity is the key to a good night. Instead of letting them put you down, try to lift them up.
As they would say in Dutch: "Een betere dansvloer begint bij jezelf!"

Don't know if I am going to much off-topic, but ....
Realising good sound at 11 is quite a challenge. Due to the hard materials (glass, concrete) theacoustics are (very) difficult. The large glass windows are giant sound and especially bass-leaks, so getting some volume and bass inside the room without annoying neighbours is a toughie.
So what have been tried is to keep sound and especially the bass away from the windows in order to prevent leaking to the outside. So there will be indeed some places were there is less bass.
About your remark about the characteristics of Funktion-One you are right that it is a very 'clear' system and that subsequently any faults in the audio chain (bad records, over eq-ing, overdriving the mixer etc) will be very audible.
If people would like to have more information, please feel free to contact me personally.
