Monokreck describes his style as "open minded house, from glitchy microhouse to deep techno, and all in between". Melting many styles of electronic music together to create a warm atmosphere on the dancefloor.
Op vrijdag 26 december zal VOLTT dit jaar nog eenmaal goed uitpakken voor een knallende afsluiting van 2008. Op 2e kerstdag zal de Paradiso namelijk in het teken staan van VOLTT met een hoop vooruitstrevend talent en gerenommeerde artiesten.
In navolging van het overdonderende geweld op het tot nok toe gevulde CLiCK feest tijdens het Amsterdam Dance Event krap twee maanden geleden, maakt de organisatie zich op voor een nog meeslepender en vooral intiemer spektakel.
De jaarwisseling neemt altijd een beetje spanning met zich mee, meestal met de grote groep dierbaren die je hebt is het altijd een beetje onderling onderhandelen. Wel uit, niet uit, wel thuis, niet thuis, wel afteren, niet afteren, wel werken, niet werken...
DJ Miss Monica was born on the 12th of March 1971 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands . Growing up in the biggest harbour city of the world, she started to go out in the house-scene in 1989 and discovered something that would change her life... HOUSE-MUSIC!!! She started DJ-ing in 1992. Thanks to her musical talent, she learned very fast. In 1993 she was asked to become a resident DJ at “NIGHTTOWN” (one of the finest dance clubs in the Netherlands at that time, cap. 2000). In 1994 – 1998 she got her own club-night, every first Saturday of the month at NIGHTTOWN, which was a huge success and she made the party people go crazy! She was asked to perform at different clubs and parties all over the Netherlands and her DJ-career was getting bigger and bigger. In 1996 she decided to stop working as a medical analist at a hospital laboratory, to become a professional DJ.
In 1996 she became one of the most popular DJ's in the Netherlands (3 - 5 performances a week), thanks to her excellent DJ performances (with very fine mixing skills !!) and her mixed compilation CD's (Check “DISCOGRAPHY” on her website for more details). She performed at the most respected clubs, parties and festivals in the Netherlands like: Nighttown, Roxy. It, Waakzaamheid, ASTA, Mazzo, Maastheater, Escape, Paard, etc and the popular parties like M.T.C., Lunapark, Beachpop, MAW parties, Chesterfield party, Veronica's Mega Music Dance Experience (20.000 people), Dance Valley Festival (25.000 people) and Extrema (parties and festivals). At the Fast Forward Dance Parade 1998 (300.000 people), her own truck drew all the attention. She also performed for radio shows such as, Radio 538 “van Diepen's Dance Department” , Radio Veronica and local radio shows.
As a result of her success in the Netherlands she got international recognition and has performed at clubs and parties all over the world like: France (Including performances at Club REX and Club QUEEN in Paris), Ibiza (Pacha), Belgium (Café D'anvers), Switserland (MAD), Turkey (Club 2019), Israël (Haoman17), Spain, Mallorca, Curaçao (Mambo Beach), Germany and so on.
Thank to her excellent performances and skills, she has spinned the wheels with national and international DJ's such as : Ronald Molendijk, Mark van Dale, DJ Jean, Michel de Hey, DJ Remy, Erick E, 100% Isis, Miss Djax, Laurant Garnier, Mr. C, DJ Djulz, Paul van Dijk, Jack de Marseille, Sander Kleinenberg, Eddy de Clercq (EDC), DJ Roog, etc, etc.
In 1997 – 1998 she got a second resident club-night at NIGHTTOWN, on Wednesday called: “FRESH UP”. Funky grooves and solid sounds to enjoy the party people. The party people responded enthousiasticly to “FRESH UP”.
In July 1998 the unexpected happened. She became very ill with Mononucleosis, and even worse, she was diagnosed CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). Because of this very serious illness she was not able to perform as a DJ for 5 years. In July 2003 she miraculously recovered from CFS and can live a normal life again.
In December 2003 she won the BG Dance Awards 2003 “Encouragement Award”
Miss Monica started her comebacktour in February 2004. The kick off was at the award winning club (BEST CLUB) Club Las Palmas in Rotterdam. All other respected clubs/parties followed : ASTA in Den Haag, Mainstage (Chemistry) in Amsterdam, Global Kitchen by FCA Music at Winkel van Sinkel in Utrecht, De Rechter in Eindhoven and many more. In the summer of 2004 she also performed successfully at Extrema Outdoor Festival and Dance Valley Festival. (Check “PHOTOBOOK” on her website for all pictures and “VIDEO” for great video’s). Since February 2004 she had resident clubnights at Club Las Palmas in Rotterdam and ASTA in Den Haag.
In 2004 she got a lot of media attention (check MEDIA on her website for more details), and she was a guest DJ and performing live mixed DJ-sets at several national radio shows : Radio 538, ID&T Radio, 3FM Radio and Fresh FM Radio.
In October 2004 Miss M. was rewarded with the 58th place in the DJ TOP 100 at the Dutch DJ Awards ; being the 2nd ranked female DJ in this TOP 100.
In March 2005 Miss M. won a “Gouden Kabouter” Award, the incredibly unofficial annual underground in-crowd oscar for the clubscene, as “HERO OF THE YEAR”. A big reward for her fantastic comebacktour in 2004.
In 2005 she is had 2 – 3 performances a week, and performed at respected clubs and parties etc like : Award winning (best club) Club Las Palmas in Rotterdam, Award winning (best new club) Club Poema in Utrecht, Off Corse in Rotterdam, De Rechter in Eindhoven, Lunapark Parties in Rotterdam, Global Kitchen at Winkel van Sinkel in Utrecht, Club Now & Wow in Rotterdam, etc etc.... She also performed on radio shows and had lots of interviews for all kinds of media.
In August 2005 she gave a DJ-clinic using the NUMARK 5000FX mixer at the “DJ-EXPO” in the RAI in Amsterdam.
After 7 years, her former clubnight “Fresh Up” got a follow up : Since September 2005, she rocks her large fanbase @ “ABSOLUTELY STEREO” ; her own very popular clubnight, every 3rd Saturday of the month @ Off Corso in Rotterdam ; with a wicked 4 hour set, performed together with one of the finest vocalists : MC Miss Bunty.
In October 2005 she was ranked in the TOP 100 of the “Release Dance Awards” on #57, being the 4th ranked female DJ in this TOP 100.
The last weekend of October 2005 she was a participant at the Amsterdam Dance Event 2005 at Felix Meritis Centre in Amsterdam. On the D3-day, Miss M listened to demos and did a mini-clinic of her favourite NUMARK 5000FX mixer.
DJ Miss Monica doesn't limit herself to one style of music!!! Her style is from: club / tech / groovy / tribal / latino / pumping / energetic / filter / electro house sounds to : funky / rhythmic / energetic / pumping / party / soulfull / tribal techno sounds. Because when she is there, the party is there!!!
With her original choice of music, her flawless mixing skills and her ability to make a great party on any dancefloor, it's fascinating to see DJ Miss Monica behind the decks and to feel the energy. Her DJ-sets are always full-filling for the party people, and 300% ENTERTAINMENT!!!!

Allready started her studio in the beginning of 1998, Miss M. has started producing seriously in December 2004. She works on her productions every week at her own studio, completely by herself and without an engineer.
In April 2005 her first record deal/contract was a fact. The popular techno producer and labelowner : "HERTZ" from Sweden ; signed and remixed the first record of DJ Miss Monica, for his label Q-records. The record : DJ Miss Monica - Bossamonica (Q-record 01 (a tribal track with a big latin flavour on phatt beats in the grey area between house and techno) was released in August 2005. Bossamonica was supported by many DJ’s like : Laidback Luke, DJ Preach and Cristian Varela. And had high ratings in the “sales charts” of several (online)-recordshops, including a number 1 position, in the “techno sales charts”, at Holland’s most popular online recordshop www.4djsonly.com.
In April 2006 her second release will be on “TSUNAMI SPECIAL BLEND” label (of Purple Eye Entertainment) ; The record :” DJ Miss Monica – Rich Day” ; has a detroit/soulfull techno sound with European influences. It will also include a B-side track by the “Miss” herself and a “HERTZ” remix of the “Rich Day” track.
