Quince is recognized as one of Holland's biggest talents in the techno scene. Since his first release in 2006 on Amsterdam's Delsin label, he impressed with his well produced, warm house sounds.
From October 22 to 25 our capitol is the stage for its annual Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) again. Beatfreax has created the ultimate online guide to keep you up to speed with the coolest parties and venues during the event.
Dance erger je niet! is de naam van ons nieuwe ludieke maandelijkse clubconcept. Naar onze mening tot nu toe het beste resultaat als we kijken naar de identiteit die Firma Gezellig nastreeft.
Matthew Dear (aka False (Plus and Jabberjaw (Perlon)) has become one of America’s best techno artists in just a few short years. Between his stunning live performances and evolved DJ sets, Matthew has perked the ears of the industry’s best.
Philip Sherburne (The Wire) called his summer 2003 12” releases, EP1 and EP2, “among the best techno records this year.” His debut album under his birth name, Leave Luck to Heaven, is sleek and minimal, containing a pop sensibility and an ambient soul; it was given four stars by Rolling Stone, amongst dozens of other rave reviews and spots on numerous ‘Best of 2003’ lists.
Having toured around the world for much of 2004, Dear followed Leave Luck with the mini-LP Backstroke, which garnered similar praise and served to galvanize his placement amongst the world’s finest minimal electronic producers. As an exploration of a harsher edge, Dear also adopted the Audion alias for the release of the Kisses and The Pong 12”s in 2004, both suffused with massive beats and sawtoothed synth oscillations. On top of all this, Dear will close out 2004 as XLR8R magazine’s “Artist of the Year”, appearing on the cover of the December issue. Through December he is also sharing the stage with K7’s Swayzak during a North American tour that will only serve to widen his devoted fan base.
Matthew Dear will release a new album. The new full-length titled “Asa Breed” is out in June on Ghostly (see tracklisting below!). Before that, Ghostly will release the 1st single, Deserter, on May 8 which will feature a FOUR TET remix and a B-side exclusive to the vinyl. The digital version will have an instrumental version of the FOUR TET mix.
