DJ Lexy, whose real name is Alexander Gerlach, was born on January 14, 1976 and started his career as a DJ and producer soon after his move to Berlin in the summer of 1997.
Before arriving in Berlin, Lexy ran a record shop in
Dresden Neustadt, where he met many DJs and producers from the local techno scene. His background knowledge of most major releases and popular acts made him an expert in the house and techno scene.
In 1996 he took his friends’ advice and decided
to produce his own records and start his career as a DJ.
After a number of sets with his friend Hardy Hard, who supported his decision and co-produced his first releases, he was soon in constant demand in the Dresden region and later across the whole country. Since his set at Mayday - Save the Robots in early May 1998, which is the world’s largest indoor house and techno event, he has become one of Low Spirit’s busiest DJs doing sets all around the world.
He even went to the Hong Kong’s film festival in October 1998 as the DJ representative of the Love Parade.
In early 1999, Lexy became the Electric Kingdom DJ
at events in Cologne and Munich which defined the label’s sound and produced the title-track for its compilation.
Lexy’s DJ sets express his preference for fresh beats and fat, kicking grooves which don’t succumb to clichés, while his refined mixing talent allows him to integrate complicated rhythms into the flow of his mixes.
Since 1999, he’s combined forces with K-Paul to form a new, dynamic duo. Their very first track, "The Greatest DJ", was a sensational success. The accompanying James Bond-style
video was also a real eye-catcher.
While K-Paul concentrates more on producing, Lexy tests new tracks in clubs and returns to the studio fresh with new ideas. That’s where they are right now, working on new tracks.
