Emerging in 1985, Joost has been an strong presence on the Dutch dance scene winning awards and supporting the international electronic music community. His early parties in the infamous Squat club Armadillo featured garage punk and psychedelic music. One of the first dj’s to champion house music at the now legendary ROXY nightclub, he created parties that featured an irreverent mix of fashion, humor, fashion, art, celebrity performances and street culture which brought new cache to the Amsterdam nightclub scene.
His recent events at RAUW have featured international stars such as Blackstrobe, The Glimmers, Erol Alkan, Felix da Housecat, Larry Tee, T. Raumschmiere, Djs Are Not Rockstars feat. Princess Superstar, Headman, Tommie Sunshine, Junior Sanchez, and many more and have been getting rave reviews in the media. One of the most exciting aspects of his regular events are the live performances from international acts like Vitalic, Whitey, Warren Suicide, MU, Avenue D, Captain Comatose and Cantankerous which injects some much-needed personality into the music mix.
Joost is also hosting another legendary night in the Netherlands: Club Filth is touring the world with a mad mix of music and outrageous decorations, after visiting Barcelona and Berlin, Club Filth is due for a Canadian adventure this fall.
