Paul Woolford became Bobby Peru at the end of the year 2000, and it marked the coming of age for a previously young and precociously talented British producer. The son of a jazz drummer and an Annie Lennox lookalike, it was a forgone conclusion that he would find his vocation in life in music.
His first contributions came with his original production partner, Tony Senghore. They released an album under their Wackdaddies name on Under The Counter Records, it was stylish, quirky and in demand from San Fran to Scarbrough. After their split, Paul was forced to rethink the direction of his career and decided to go solo-Bobby Peru was born.
Meanwhile, Paul secured a residency at back to basics thanks to Ralph Lawson spotting his talent and introducing him first as a warm up and then as fully fledged guest. Paul has recently forged a friendship with hot jock of the moment, Yousef, and since formed another production partnership under the name 10,000BC. Paul has hit the music industry with a statement of intent that he is here to stay and is undoubtedly one of the hottest British born producers around. His latest productions on Underwater, Hooj, Classic and of course 2020 Vision are testemant to this talent.
