Spanish techno giants Cristian Varela and DJ Pepo will team up again on November 22nd at Awakenings to close the event with a 2-hour set of Techno with Spanish flair.

Aside from the impressive technical abilities they both possess, Cristian and Pepo’s joint performances have been characterized by words like “connection,” “amiable rivalry,” “laughter,” “pure emotion” and “unique.” They have fun together and it shows, sending a wave of excitement throughout the crowd. Both friends and colleagues, Cristian and Pepo have grown up together professionally, becoming two legendary figures in Madrid’s electronic music scene. They both honed their skills at the beginning of their DJ careers at Attica, a well-known club in Madrid from the early nineties. Christian has been a true ambassador for Spanish techno, producing hits and performing all over the world. Pepo has been a DJ and producer for more than 20 years and he has become one of Spain´s most respected artists, particularly in Northern Spain where he annually closes festivals like Aquasella, TechnoFlash and Electrosonic. Pepo has played in Spain´s most renowned venues, including Fabrik (Madrid), TechnoFlash (Burgos) and Florida 135 (Huesca). He is also generating an international following thanks to appearances in Holland, Portugal, Italy, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
