Friday 20th of June Echoism Recordings will join forces with German heavyweight Great Stuff Recordings as a showcase during the Sonar event in Barcelona. Artists from both labels will showcase their sound at the infamous Mondo club, which resides in the yacht area of Port Vell in the heart of Barcelona.Echoism is the newest musical lovechild of Amsterdam based dance organisation ElectroNation. After organizing countless events across Europe and working with numerous Djs and producers, starting an own record label seems to be the natural next step in their musical evolution. With its first release early 2008 and contributions of artists like Smash TV, Phil Kieran, Alexi Delano, Alexander Robotnick, The Youngsters, Freeform Five, Roel H and Terry Toner it will surely be a future force to be reckoned with.
Our friends from Great Stuff Recordings have been a steady force throughout the last couple of years, with a constant flow of high profile releases it can truly be seen as a heavy weight in contemporary dance music. After a fruitfull collaboration during last years Amsterdam Dance Event we’ve decided to invite them to join strenghts during this edition of the Sonar festival.
For the line up of the evening we have chosen to invite some of our friends that have been involved in Echoims Recordings in the past and some that will do in the future......
Gregor Tresher (Great Stuff), Phil Kieran (Cocoon/Novamute), Terry Toner (Echoism), Smash TV (Bpitch Control), Alexander Robotnick (Hot Elephant Music / Creme Organization), Sasse (Freestyle Man) (Moodmusic), Kiki (BPitch Control) and Dave DK (Moodmusic/Playhouse, Berlin)
For this special event in Barcelona we’re proud of Val Denham’s contribution to the artwork. Val Denham is a widely respected artist and painter, which his/her distinct artwork adorned countless renowned album covers for artists such as Marc Almond, Throbbing Gristle, Kate Bush and many other influential people around the world.
The Echoism release party will be at the Mondo Club (Barcelona), which is a 5-minute walk from Placa de la Carbonera (the map for the right directions).
