This weeks podcast-mix is done by Dutch DJ and promoter Thomas Martojo; "The nice thing about mixing at home is that you have total freedom regarding your choice of records, the mix has therefore turned out relatively diverse compared to when I'm playing in clubs."

During the last year Thomas Martojo's star in the Dutch electronic music scene has risen greatly as he organized many successful alternative events with the Dekmantel Collective. New clubnights at Studio 80, Paradiso and 't Paard are on there way as well as own stages at festivals such as Mystery Land and Costa del Soul. Next to Dekmantel his dj career is on the fly too as he joined the Soulrock Bookings agency early 2008, closed in on several extra residencies (Vreemd, Flexbar, KitKatClub) and his busy schedule includes appearances at major events such as 5 Days Off, Circo Loco Amsterdam and Rockit Open Air.

"Hopefully I've managed to achieve a progression throughout the mix which sounds natural, although I surely can imagine it's a bit too "eclectic" for some as each has its own musical preferences. It does however illustrate what I find the most interesting aspect of dj'ing: combining different types of music. Apart from "regular" house and techno, the mix contains obscure Chicago material, soulfull deephouse, new wave and bits of electro. Known (and unknown) older material but a fair amount of new records too.

I also noticed I really do have to replace my current needles. Especially the shitty pressed Trax record sounds fabulous ;-)"
