Stacey Pullen first guest at Planet Delsin on September 23rd.The Netherlands and Amsterdam are known to have a strong bond with the original Detroit techno sound. This music from Detroit was put on the map by producers like Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson + Carl Craig and has always been warmly received in the Netherlands. The sound is still very much alive today. The Amsterdam based label Delsin recently had his 50th (!) release, alongside the album releases from Shinedoe (100% Pure), Duplex (Clone) and Aardvarck (Rush Hour) this year. All this music has been received with open arms internationally and it’s no wonder that DJ (UK) and Groove (Germany) magazines have labeled the Netherlands as the new Detroit.
Marsel van der Wielen (Delsin Records), Raymon Hollander (Metropolis, Rush Hour) and Tim Nieburg (Nachtplan), all with a big heart for Detroit techno, have united for this new club night at 11, “Planet Delsin”. The main purpose is to organize more nights with this warm, soulful funky techno. Special guest DJ for the first episode is Stacey Pullen from Detroit. He debuted on Derrick May’s Fragile label, runs his own Blackflag imprint and is above all famous for his cosmic, funky DJ sets.
