One year ago, Adriaan Veldhuizen and Nuno dos Santos started Dilanta, a booking agency for both Dutch and international DJ’s and producers. In the past year, Dilanta Artist Management has established itself as a successful booking agency, which now represents Darko Esser, Nuno Dos Santos, Lauhaus, Le Clic, Ion Ludwig, Quince, Juan Sanchez, Kirk DeGiorgio, SCSI-9, Fabrice Lig and I.A. Bericochea.
It was a busy year, for both Dilanta and her artists. Nuno Dos Santos signed with German label Compost Black, together with T.J. Kong. He performed three days at the Lowlands festival and showed his skills at 13 other summer festivals, including Dancevalley, 05 Days Off, Extrema Outdoor and Mysteryland.
Darko Esser released on Audiomatique, Steve Bug’s label, and signed with Underwater. A collaboration with Benny Rodrigues ended up on Darren Emerson’s latest mix-CD. In the near future, Darko Esser will be releasing a record on Josh Wink’s label Ovum. Josh Wink and Darko Esser will promote this release by spinning together at the Ovum Labelweekend, held in Belgium and Holland at the end of October. Next to his DJ activities, Darko Esser is dance-programmer at Doornroosje in Nijmegen, which was awarded this year with the infamous ‘Nachttempel Award’ (Nightclub Award).
2006 Has been a successful mix of many activities for Lauhaus. Most important, there was his release with David Labeij under the name Polder. The record was released on Intacto and received positive feedback from all over the world.
But Lauhaus is not just a producer: he can also be found behind the decks. This year, he performed at festivals like Awakenings and Lowlands. The Traffic and Mono nights he organizes, were also a big hit. Parties were held at clubs like Melkweg in Amsterdam and Doornroosje in Nijmegen.
Le Clic released their first record on Darko Esser’s Wolfskuil label. Julien Chaptal, Noah Pepper and Aron Friedman played clubs and festivals across the country. Julien Chaptal signed solo at Remote Area, a label owned by Dylan Hermelijn (Intacto Records, 100% Pure).
Young, talented minimal-DJ Ion Ludwig surprised the international dance-scene by releasing two records within weeks of each other on Alphahouse and Underl_ne. He recently moved to Berlin to start his own record label.
Quince also released two records: “No More Drama EP” and “America”, both on Delsin. And he’s just getting started: his music will be released on Ovum in the near future.
Juan Sanchez is currently busy working in the studio. This summer, he played festivals like Free Your Mind and Rockit Open Air, to name a few. Expect his first record in 2007.
Dilanta Artist Management owns half of Full Spectrum, an organisation from Utrecht that offers the partyscene an eclectic mixture of progressive techno. In September 2006, Full Spectrum will celebrate it’s 2 year anniversary. In the past two years, the organisation organized parties at 27 locations in 11 Dutch cities and programmed artists such as Michael Mayer, James Holden, Chris Liebing, Dominik Eulberg, Plump DJ’s and Robert Hood.
In one year, Dilanta Artist Management has created a solid foundation to build upon in the future. Founders Adriaan Veldhuizen and Nuno Dos Santos are - apart from their work for D
Dilanta Artist Mangement and Full Spectrum – starting their own record label. Dilanta Recordings is expected to be up and running in 2007.
