A new SonarSound comes to Hamburg with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.

Sónar will again launch a SonarSound event with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, bringing to fruition five years of collaboration. The latter is one of the oldest cultural festivals on the summer circuit. For two decades, the event has been able to combine classical proposals with others more in accordance with current music trends. As usual, every year a country is chosen to be the protagonist of the programme. This year it is Holland’s turn.

The main stage of Hamburg’s Kampnagel lounge –the Main Hall (K6)– will showcase SonarSound night with performances by some of the most interesting artists on the current Dutch scene. The programme includes the highly anticipated performance by Speedy J, who, after collaborating with Chris Liebing in Collabs3000, returns with a new disturbing project. In addition, the event will also feature Pete Philly & Perquisite’s chamber hip hop, as well as eccentricities by C-Mon & Kypski. Both artists made their abilities undoubtedly clear during their recent performances at Sónar. Telcosystems’s digital performance will complete the billing.

SonarSound is a glossary of the emerging trends and timeless hits of the electronic universe. Having travelled to London, Lisbon, Neuchâtel, São Paulo, Rome, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires, it is an event which reflects the decentralized state of electronic music.

Founded by members of 0010, Minuszero, D:U:M:B and DLF, Telcosystems initiated its journey in 2001 with the aim of exploring new ways for audiovisual expression. The search was centred in digital language. Its distinguishing mark has been to strictly follow a lucid and sober aesthetic, intimately related to computer technology.

22:00-23:00 :: Speedy J 5.1 (live)
Without a doubt, Jochem Paap has for the last 10 years been the great ambassador of Dutch electronics. His infinite versatility has allowed him to create indispensable techno, hard techno, and IDM combined with industrial nu-industrial records. It will be the second time he presents “5.1” live, a work that falls somewhere between abstraction and industrial music.

23:00-00:00 :: Pete Philly & Perquisite (live)
"Mindstate" is the product of eighteen months collaboration between MC Pete Philly and producer Perquisite, two of the biggest names on the Dutch hip-hop scene. The duo not only dares to merge hip-hop with styles as disparate as soul, psychedelia, classical music and broken beats... but also makes the mix sound natural.

Even though this Dutch quartet is a hip-hop band, its music reflects the influences of funk, rock, and polka. If you liked "Static Traveller", the group’s latest LP, you shouldn’t miss their live act in which C-Mon & Kypski prove they are real specialists in the art of spontaneity and danceable eccentricity.
