Simple always presents a typical but in the same time accessible festival with a lot of attention for diversity and quality music. At the mainstage, the focus lies on styles such as minimal, deephouse, techhouse and techno. The second podium aims at hip-hop, electrofunk, soul and broken beats. All music which originates from fuming metropoles and for this reason perfectly suits in the centre of the city. Besides big names such as the English deejay Billy Nasty and the Rotterdam Benny Rodrigues (who shares the turntables with Darko Esser) there are acts like the German Ame. Ame is the sound of 2006 and easily fills dancefloors worldwide with sublime productions.
At the second stage Simple presents several hip-hop acts such as Kid Sublime, Melodia, Y's kid and the Treeclimbers feat. Frank Nitty. But also the talented German deejay/producer Ben Mono (Compost Records), one of the best kept secrets of Germany. He will spinn his broad and refreshing sounds full of ‘digital funk’.
Beside music there is a lot of attention for non-musical expressions from Sol Crew. Little League and Space 3. Together with Shoarma Crew they are worldwide respected for their ‘live stick-up-painting’.
The location in the middle of in the city, the relatively low entrancefee and a broad musical scope, brings together a very easy going audience and a relaxed vibe.
