"Dance, Dance, Dance", the classic CHIC track, is tonight's theme tune. Black music in various registers, styles and from various origins.

A night for enjoyment, participation, and communication. Isn't dancing a body language? Get your best steps and threads ready to dazzle. And this year Sónar by Night offers a new fourth stage, SonarLab, for hearing and discovering new labels. Rhythm and experimentation in the open air.

SonarClub kicks the proceedings off with Rahzel & Dj Js-One, live and direct. The beatboxer who experimented with Björk on “Medulla” and his partner in crime on the turntables use hip-hop as the structure for their sound. They are followed by CHIC feat. Nile Rodgers, a true disco-funk sound, reviewing the classics that made them the driving forces behind club music. After them, the young Jimmy Edgar, one of the most promising talents from the city of Detroit, takes the stage. Another great classic, but from the techno field, is Jeff Mills, who could not be absent as we reach the tenth anniversary of the release of his well-known anthem "The Bells". The house made in NYC produced by Japan's Satoshi Tomiie will round off proceedings on the largest stage.

From the British Isles, Superthriller will open on the SonarPub stage with a funk-pop performance with catchy rhythms which are as cheerful as those of LCD Soundsystem or Beck at his best. They will be followed by one of the essential names in electronica: Nightmares On Wax, the soul of the WARP label, presenting “In a space outta sound”. Laurent Garnier & Bugge Wesseltoft feat Philippe Nadaud will reinvent the sound of the F Comm head with a jazzy touch, and later, the unclassifiable Herbert, sampler of everyday life, will present his new work “Scale”. And finally, there is the savoir-faire how of Sasha, who is always among the first on the grid in the international Dj circuit, who is visiting Sónar for the first time.

SonarPark will kick off with Gilles Peterson & MC Earl Zinder, with the best selection of classic black music from yesterday and today, from the head of the Talkin’ Loud label. At midnight, the roots of dub and spoken word take the stage: Linton Kwesi Johnson & Dennis Bovell Dub Band will give the festival a musical history lesson. They will be followed by Japan's Dj Krush and his particular liking for the most wide-ranging breaks and influences. And then comes the One Self project, Dj Vadim's band which is making waves in the United Kingdom. Del Palo comes from two local maestros in the creation and selection of hip-hop: Griffi from Sólo Los Solo and Dj2D2 together on stage - and who knows, perhaps with a joint project? They will be followed by DJ Shadow presents The Hyphy Movement feat. Keak Da Sneak, Turf Talk, Nump, which is the latest discovery by the tireless west coast artist, accompanied by three MCs from the Bay Area scene. Kenny Dope, half of Masters At Work, will add the final touch to the hottest stage on Friday.

SonarLab moves to the night for the first time and showcases three labels: Intr-Version, Plop and Schematic. The Canadian Mitchell Akiyama is the brains behind the Intr-Version label and Belgium's amute is one of his youngest talents. Their live shows consist of a band with a laptop, guitar and keyboard. The Japanese Plop label's showcase starts with Masami Shimomura: in a session based on organic experimentation, and continues with Sora, the project by Takeshi Kurosawa, whose latest work, "Re.sort," is halfway between jazz and electronica. From the beaches of Miami, the Schematic label brings us the incredible world of Otto Von Schirach, where it is possible to dance to everything. With the fame fitting for a pop artist, Tiga; the most eagerly-awaited Dj and the sexiest on the decks, presents his new LP, "Sexor”.
