With our previous editions we welcomed guest artists such as Dimi Angelis, Damian Keane, Remgius & Quinn who are known to preserve the timeless techno sound. This time we are very proud to present the one and only Dutch godfather of timeless techno.Steve Rachmad is a globally known Dutch techno producer, DJ and re-mixer. By many, he is considered a father of Detroit techno in the Netherlands, respected in the world of electronic music for his deep, groovy sounds that tend to rest on impressive strings, melodies, funk and soul. His career has been reaching its highest peaks from 1996 up to the present time. Yet, it is somewhat less known that he has been in the music realms for 25 years by now.
The incoming years are to be marked by numerous successful releases on labels such as 100% Pure, Underwater, Fragile, M-Plant, Tresor, etc. He also made a significant number of remixes, signed under various pseudonyms. Among Steve’s most respected releases is certainly his album “Secret Life of Machines,” which came out in 1996 under his pseudonym Sterac, and is up to this date considered as one of the all-time techno classics. About the same time his DJing path starts rapidly evolving as well. Until today, Steve shares his talent with the crowds all over the World. He occasionally spins disco and electro, but mainly techno.
Over the years, Steve lost the count of his productions and remixes. However, he built an oeuvre that is without a doubt of a high magnitude: both quality and quantity-wise. Unfortunately, his busy DJ schedule puts a limit on the time he would like to spend in his studio. Yet, he strives for the balance that would satisfy his enormous artistic appetite and potential. His devotion to his dreams and inspirations drives him safely into the successful future.
The other guest is Thomas Martojo.
Born (1986) and raised in The Hague (NL) electronic music did not play any major role throughout most of Thomas Martojo's youth. Aged 15 years old he first visited the bigger raves and festivals and only than experienced what the world of electronic music had to offer him. As a dj Thomas nourishes no ambitions other than to explore the depths of timeless, quality music only. Musically, techno has to be his first true love. While it was his first (and it is most likely be his last too) he's also grown a keen interest in deep Detroit based house, typical early 90's Chicago and a wide variety of divers material from the more influential Warp -like experimental music labels. His main influences include: Jeff Mills, Steve Rachmad, Kenny Dixon jr, Theo Parrish, Carl Craig, Eevo Lute, Plaid, early Ae, Anthony Shakir, Robert Hood, Mr Fingers, Steve Poindexter, Surgeon, The Advent, Maurizio, Claro Intelecto and AFX, to name a few. But the list goes on (and on, and on)... Thomas Martojo's choice of records will always depend on the setting, the surroundings and his state of mind. And although it is quite difficult to typify his dj sets, they often are characterized by a progressing flow in which he'll use his records as building blocks to create open paths between distant places within the electronic music spectrum.
As always, Tim Nieburg, founder of Nachtplan, will complete the line up.
Within Tim Nieburg's music vision 'depth', 'drive' and 'warmth' are three essential key points. By now, he is already known for a unique and mature style in which he doesn't limit himself by narrowing it down to just one particular sound. Either dub and deep minimal techno, as well as spherical Detroit work, or even harder and up tempo tunes gain existence in his dj sets. One of Tim Nieburg's main strengths is his calculated way of slowly building up tension and finally, whenever the time is right, killing it with full force techno on 3 turntables. Tim has been inspirited throughout the years by artists like: Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Steve Rachmad, Robert Hood, Maurizio, Rythm & Sound, Derrick May, G-man & The Advent.
