News: bring your own turf

Bring Your Own Turf In 2004, several Free Your Mind festival visitors carried couches on their backs towards the festival area and last year they asked visitors for decorations during the festival’s build-up. Whats in it for 2006??

In 2004, several Free Your Mind festival visitors carried couches on their backs towards the festival area, the reason for this being our promise of free entrance for all those bringing a couch. This promotion caught nationwide attention. Last year we asked visitors for decorations during the festival’s build-up. Many creations were brought and used. 2006 is all about the World Cup. That’s why this summer we have two great related deals at the festival.

1: BYO Turf (Bring Your Own Turf)
Holland is all about the World Cup this summer, that’s crystal clear. That’s why we give you the opportunity to play some soccer at the festival. Bring at least one square meter of grass to create a small field at a designated space on the festival ground. Your ticket will then be exchanged into a VIP-ticket that gives you access to the VIP-beach at the banks of the river Rhine, where you can relax, drink and dance.

2: The Free Your Mind Penalty Kick Shoot-out
For the Dutch’ soccer team, penalties are the most difficult thing in the world. And when talking about taking penalties, one thing is for sure: ‘The watchers always know better than the doers.’ That’s why Free Your Mind dares you to show us how much you’re worth by taking part in the “Free Your Mind Penalty Kick Shoot-out”. At a freshly placed penalty area with goal you can erase your “Seedorf-trauma” by shooting away and maybe even earn something on the side. For one drink-token, you get one try to score, and scoring means you double your input and earns respect, but whoever misses loses both.

All of this and more to be found at Free Your Mind 2006!

Ready? Steady? Go! Yes, Let the summer begin!
