Last night the Dutch Dance 4 Life initiative kicked off its 2006 campaign in club Outland where there new ambassador Tiësto rocked the crowd.Dance4Life is a growing, worldwide project to fight back HIV and AIDS by dancing. On November the 25th 2006, the Saturday before World AIDS Day, they will celebrate the School Projects' closure which is held throughout the year. People will dance in different countries, with tens of thousands of young people worldwide.
2004 saw the birth of this great initiative, and this year they are back even bigger and better. They’ve managed to get Tiësto as the main ambassador for this project, so it was obvious he played at their kick-off party at club Outland.
The club was medium-filled, but it was clear everybody came for one man only. In my ears Tiësto’s set was quite boring, but you should judge a DJ on just a one-hour-gig. The crowd seemed to love it (see the photos) and hands reached for the sky with every mix. Personal favourite was Roog’s wonderful set in the basement, followed by Laidback Luke’s refreshing choice of records. Basements always rock!
Leaving the club around 03:00 we look back on a very successful launch party where the message was clearly spread through all the acts, djs, posters, video screens and visuals. We’ll definitely hear more of Dance 4 Life this year so keep your ears and eyes open. Start dancing, stop aids!
