In 2004 Dance 4 Life started a movement to get awareness and funds for the fight against HIV and Aids amongst young people. In 2006 they return and kick-off their campaign in club Outland with headliner Tiësto.Dance4Life is an innovative, interactive, positive, and energetic international collaborative project aimed at providing an opportunity and platform for young people to become more actively involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
At the end of 2005, 40.3 million people are living with HIV (UNAIDS 2005). Every day more then 6000 young people (aged 15-24) are newly infected with HIV (UNAIDS/UNICEF 2005). HIV/AIDS is truly one of the greatest challenges for young people, all over the world. Dance4Life is developing a unifying answer, by actively inspiring young people to take the lead in pushing back HIV and AIDS. And to become leaders instead of targets.
By dancing for life an ever growing number of youthful and dedicated agents of change will help to breakdown silence and taboos. This positive statement is attracting the attention of media, politicians and the general public in all participating countries. Everyone of us can become involved and, inspired by the energy of the young people of the world, make a measurable difference over the coming years. This is no time to hesitate.
The kick-off for their 2006 campaign will be in club
Outland in Rotterdam on the 27 of April. Headliner will be
Tiësto, amongst others like
