Fatboy Slim brings his festival show to Northern Ireland for the very first time with an exclusive appearance on Portrush's East Strand on Saturday 17 June. Tickets on sale Friday 10 March at 09:00.The show will be a presentation on a similar scale to the visually astounding sets witnessed last summer at Glastonbury, Fuji and Electric Picnic, as well as the Christmas "Palookavision" series at London's Brixton Academy. A monster video screen will again form part of what may arguably be the world's biggest DJ booth.
This summer sees the release of a Fatboy Slim retrospective, featuring some new tracks alongside his greatest tunes. A collection which will reflect on hits that have included 1996's Santa Cruz, through Going Out Of My Head, The Rockafeller Skank, Gangster Tripping, Right Here Right Now, Praise You, Sunset (Bird Of Prey), Weapon Of Choice and 2004's Slash Dot Dash.
Fatboy Slim's passion for making and playing music remains as strong as ever. After a career that dates back almost a decade, he remains a major live draw, and undoubtedly the biggest in electronic music. The Big Beach Boutique in his home town of Brighton, when last held, saw 250,000 turn up to party. Another Big Beach bash in Rio in 2004 drew Fatboy's biggest ever single audience - a staggering 360,000.
The setting for this extravaganza, in the historic peninsula town of Portrush on the North Antrim coast, could not be better. Striking views along the coast to Dunluce Castle and The Giants Causeway headland lie to the east, and to Donegal in the west, making this promontory a unique vantage point. The seaside attractions of this enduringly popular resort will add to the fun. The beach front concert arena will provide superb facilities, with food, drinks and everything else needed for a great day out by the sea.
