Depeche Mode is re-releasing their song "Suffer Well" in the unrecognizable language "Simlish". This language is spoken by the characters in the video game "The Sims".The song now sounds a bit like "Deh dah do. Misbalah. Que-moh-nuzhee? Esta booka-dee schvallow en douch cheeky-a-vunch." said the English Guardian last Saturday. Simlish is a language though up by the makers of the populair "The Sims" game and holds elements of Russian and Roman. Many game-fanatics try to discover some kind of structure in the language, which it apparently has and create dictionaries on the Internet.
Singer David Gahan: "Our band has always been open to something new. Of course recording "Suffer Well" in Simish is crazy, which is why we did it". Just recently Howard Jones has also released a song in Simlish, which he dedicated to his 11-year old son - a die hard Simsfan.
Hopefully they will perform this version of "Suffer Well" at the upcoming gig in the Ahoy in Rotterdam on March 26th. We have been looking forward to this concert for months now and will be reporting back to you the day after of course.
