Integrate has a way of introducing new venues to a bigger (techno) audience. First we saw the “Atrium”, than the rebuild “Paard van Troje” and this time they’ve put their faith into super club “Outland” in Rotterdam.Outland
Formally known as “La Xala”, “A20” or “Ministry of Beats” this huge club along the highway A20 near Rotterdam has had a bad reputation amongst the critics. Supposedly it had been closed many times due to fights, car break-ins and even gunfights (rumours). In October 2005 the club was partialy sold to the people behind events like B2S and the infamous Q-dance parties, though it remains property of the city of Rotterdam. They stripped down the building to the bone and completely rebuild it with a stunning result.
The club can now hold little over 3000 people, has tons of bars, toilets and flat screens, 3 wardrobes, 2 big entrances, 32 surveillance cameras, high-tech lights and sounds, a (guarded!) parking lot for over 600 cars, heated tents at the entrance, 70 staff members working on peak nights and three huge areas all in a unique style.
First of all there is the basement; a circle shaped dance floor, dark, mainly red lighted and it has kind of a cosy feeling to it. On the first floor you find the main hall which can hold around 1200 people. Again it is circle shaped, has 2 balconies, ear-blowing sound and has a bit of Amnesia feeling. The DJ has his booth on the first balcony, with a huge screen below him, which gives him a clear view of the whole room.
Highlight of the venue though is the glass roofed “Dome” which gives a great view and has a nice and intimate vibe. During the Integrate parties expect the more intimate music to be programmed here, which should be an awesome combination.
Integrate
Integrate has proven itself to be a firm brand when it comes to quality parties. Many advertise they “mix music with art”, though few succeed. Integrate hás that unique combination and has always looked forward when it comes to choosing line-ups and venues. On the 3rd of March DJ’s like Rush, Frank Kvitta, Surgeon, Steve Bicknell, Max Duley and Guido Schneider will convince you that this venue has a lot to offer for the techno heads. It might be a bit “clean” for some, but you can throw one hell of a party in there without a doubt!
