Juan Atkins has been nominated for a Grammy in the category 'best rap song' as co-writer on the Missy Elliott rap hit 'Losing Control'.

Missy Elliot has based her song almost entirely on the 1982 electro classic 'Clear' (Recorded by Juan Atkins and Richard Davis as Cybotron, this track is often considered to be the first proto-techno track.) and in recognition of this, Juan Atkins has been nominated as the co-writer.
