Team Cameltoe, four young men from Amsterdam and Utrecht, will try to make it to Dakar in an old Volkswagen Beetle and two Honda motorbikes.The fifth of november will be the start of the Amsterdam-Dakar Challenge 2005. Two hundred and forty teams will try to make it to Dakar, Senegal, in a vehicle less than five hundred Euros. At the finish, the cars and motorbikes will be sold by auction for charity.
Team Cameltoe, four young men from Amsterdam and Utrecht, will try to make it to Dakar in an old Volkswagen Beetle and two Honda motorbikes. They also have an extra challenge: try to raise 15.000 Euros for a school project in Fantumbung, Gambia. This project is run by Tonnie van Turnhout-Baetsen, a Dutch lady who supervises three projects in the area. After consulting the head of the school, she made a plan: for 75 Euros a child can go to school for one year. Team Cameltoe will try to give education to all 200 kids for one year. After finishing in Dakar, the team will deliver the money personally in Fantumbung.
The second of November Team Cameltoe will give a party in the Sugar Factory, Amsterdam, in association with Electronation, Immaculate Conceptualists and Anna’s Agency. Goal is to raise money for the school project. Their will be a lottery with many prizes, donated by companies and shops from around Amsterdam.
After the lottery DJ’s Mason, Sebastian Leger and Marnix will bring you the finest tunes starting at 11pm. The entrance fee will be 10 Euros, which includes a free ticket for the lottery worth € 7,50 Euros.
